I think the offer of courses, workshops and different events at SCIP.org is very useful, since many companies are interested in educating their employees to stay up to date with their competitors.
Becoming a member seems to bring a lot of benefits and it is not too expensive (especiallly not for students)
I also find the idea of Women's Leadership Council very interesting (http://www.scip.org/content.cfm?itemnumber=1768&navItemNumber=2892)
since librarianship is still considered (at least in my country) to be a mostly feminine profession and this idea might be used with our situation too.
The CI Career center (http://www.jobtarget.com/c/search_results.cfm?site_id=296) is ofcourse the most useful link for soon-to-be job seekers like me, together with the option to view articles from Journal of Competitive intelligence and Management in pdf format.
About the slovenian situation: there seems to be a course called business intelligence (gospodarsko vohunstvo) as part of the study program at the faculty for criminal justice and security, so it is not unknown to university professors and students (http://fvv.uni-mb.si/katalog/Dokumenti/Mag/MAG_1_Gospodarsko%20vohunstvo.pdf)
And I also found a link to the 8th International Conference on Business Information, held in Slovenia (including competitive intelligence specialists contributors) (http://www.allbusiness.com/management/benchmarking-strategic-planning/4107679-1.html)
The Slovenian Society for Competitive Intelligence Professionals was formed as an outcome of the conference.
Very interesting is the fact, that scip introduced a Code of Ethics for CI Professionals: http://scip.rd.net/About/content.cfm?ItemNumber=578&navItemNumber=504 .
For companies it´s surely more convenient to know that members of scip follow this Ethics, so they can trust in these CI Professionals.
With offering courses and workshops the scip gives members the chance to enhance their CI Skills. http://scip.rd.net/Training/EventsDetail.cfm?itemnumber=3066 For the CI Professionals it is probably easier to describe their abilities in applications by just mentioning “I´ve participated in course “XX” …”, also employer get a better idea of the skills of an applicant. So the scip sets standards in comparing skills of CI Professionals.
Founded in 2004 the Institute for Competitive Intelligence is offering workshops and courses for CI Professionals not only in Germany but in five other countries. http://www.competitive-intelligence.com/index.php
For many people CI still seems to be connected with industrial espionage or coporate espionage. German author Andreas Romppel (Book about Competitive Intelligence) claims in his Blog “Konkurrenzanalyse 2.0” (competition analysis) that the Profession of CI is still not commonly known in Germany. Large companies are aware of this important issue but small and medium-sized companies usually don´t employ CI Professionals. http://www.konkurrenzanalyse.biz/blog/category/ci-in-germany/ (German)
For my point of view, scip.org seems to be a quite good internet community for CI interested people. I like the idea that the operators of the page want to enhance the situation of their members, though building a community where members learn from each others experiences.

That scip.org provides a Career Center, where job seekers and employers can post their resumes: http://scip.rd.net/CareerCenter/?navItemNumber=497
This is also a quite good service for the members of scip.org. The job seeker can be sure that the employee, who answers on his report, really knows about the importance of CI for his company.
I found the “Deutsche Competitive Intelligence Forum (DCIF)”, which is an organization for people who work in the CI branch.
http://www.dcif.de/ It is a communication board as well, special for the German CI, where members exchange their experiences. DCIF (together with SCIP) honors excellent scholarly papers, which are published in the context of CI. http://www.dcif.de/en/dcif-scip-award.html
DCIF and SCIP host the German CI Summit together with the European Competitive Intelligence Summit: http://www.dcif.de/informationen-zur-jahrestagung-2007.html
At the society of Competitive Intelligence I like the interesting fact that they have the Code of ethics. http://www.scip.org/About/content.cfm?ItemNumber=578&navItemNumber=504So the community has sound impressions for other companies who would like to get training in Competitive Intelligence.
Also the opportunity for membership is great. So people can join the community and become IC professionals. http://www.scip.org/Membership/?navItemNumber=495
Relationship between Competitive Intelligence and Germany is the Institut for CI, which offers trainings and workshop for employees and founded by Rainer Michaeli in Germany in 2004. http://www.competitive-intelligence.com/index.php
There is also DCIF (Deutsches Competitive Intelligence Forum). It’s a central shelter of the of scip in Germany. http://www.dcif.de/
